Get ready HC TKD Family!
I want to start off by saying that words cannot adequately describe the thankfulness I have for the members that continued to support HC Taekwondo Pearland during this trying time. I am so grateful to know all of you and have you be a part of my family. I want to assure you that your health and safety is my number one priority and I have put in place some stringent guidelines to provide the best service that I can under the conditions and guidelines given by our local, state and federal government.
My second priority is to continue to provide the best service to the members of our school. I appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time as the situation is fluid and changing frequently. Having said that, the following includes the overarching guidelines that have been developed to assist us with keeping everyone as safe as possible. Please remember that these guidelines will evolve as we go through this learning process together.

HC TKD Pearland Reopening Phase 1 Schedule
I. HC TKD Pearland Reopening Phase 1 (May 18 – TBD):
a. For the first few weeks, we will conduct our first modified schedule for martial arts classes. Understanding that many members may have limitations or may not feel comfortable to be in a large group setting, I have added day classes that will add more times in order to lower class sizes to maximize participation while still operating in accordance with state guidelines. I will also keep all kids classes “open” for all belts, to provide more flexibility for those who cannot attend earlier classes, due to health or work related issues.
b. I will enforce the 6 foot social distancing guidelines within the facility. When entering and leaving, please be mindful of this and treat it as if you were standing in line at the grocery store and give a 6 foot barrier to the person next to you.
c. Please arrive dressed and ready for your class in order to minimize congestion in or around the bathrooms. I love each and every one of you, but please leave as soon as your class is finished adhering to the social distancing guidelines.
d. At this time during regular class, I will not have anyone sitting in the lounge area so I ask that [parents/siblings] if you are not participating in a class that you wait in your vehicle.
e. Class times will run on the hour to allow time in between classes to thoroughly clean the mat or equipment before the next class. We ask that you sanitize your hands and feet with hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes prior to stepping on the mat.
II. HC TKD Pearland Reopening Phase 2 (TBD):
a. We will be conducting our second modified class schedule. This is where we will begin hosting our evening classes at normal times in accordance with our class schedule at the time. We will still continue to provide additional “open” tot/kid classes during the day.
b. Social distancing will still be practiced during class. When entering and leaving, please be mindful of this so that we do not create a congested area in the doorway.
c. Please arrive dressed and ready for your class in order to minimize congestion in or around the bathrooms.
d. At this time during regular class, I would still discourage parents/siblings sitting in the lounge area. So I still ask that if you are not participating in a class that you wait in your vehicle.
e. Day class times will run on the hour; evening classes will run back to back. I ask that you still find the time to sanitize your hands and feet with hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes.
III. HC TKD Pearland Reopening Phase 3 (TBD):
a. At this time, we will resume a normal class schedule. There will no longer be extra classes offered during the day.
b. I pray that during this phase that we shouldn’t have to worry about social distancing, but we will still practice safety measures as much as possible, especially when it comes to students showing signs of illness.
c. During this phase, I welcome parents back to enjoying watching their kids practice and interacting with friends and family.
d. Hand washing after bathroom use is a must and the best way to sanitize yourself. I also ask that you still find the time to sanitize your hands before and after class.
Again, thank you for your support and understanding during this time! I ask that you help us adhere to the guidelines so that we can be a good steward of your health and well-being and support our community during this. We want to be a part of the solution as opposed to being part of the problem.
